Responsible for deploying, managing and operating scalable, highly available and fault tolerant environments that run all company Software. Working closely with the Development and Quality Assurance teams you will be a key part of delivering industry leading software to clients around the globe and maintaining the level of service expected by our clients.
You will be encouraged to take a pro-active role within the company’s product life-cycles, assisting the Product Managers to determine new ways to innovate and improve their solutions. This includes working to improve security, performance, reliability and efficiency.
·Champion core technologies to the company and take a lead role in feeding back cascade training to the rest of the team
·Advising and consulting with internal teams regarding ongoing work, developments and changes within the infrastructure dept. and providing procedural advice for both testing and implementation of new features
·Provide technical support and guidance to other team members
·Assisting the R&D team with the investigation of new technologies and how they can be used in production to enhance stability, performance and reliability of our products, or reduce overhead costs
·Work with the customer and specialist team members to ensure correct focus and resolution of incidents within SLA whilst supporting our Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPO)
·Contribute to ongoing process improvement activities
·Maintain detailed configuration and FAQ knowledgebase within our document control platform
·Provide accurate and detailed incident/problem updates and communications promptly
·Third line support of all customers within our cloud based deployments
·Participation in the Infrastructure On-Call Rota
·Assume proactive involvement in personal and technical development
·Expected to keep up-to-date with latest technology trends relevant to the company objectives
·Experience working on a virtual environment
·Good knowledge of Linux, CentOS/RHEL or other RPM-based distributions, Python, Node.JS or other scripting language
·Good theoretical knowledge of HTTP/HTTPS,DNS and SSL/TLS
·Understanding of deploying highly-available solutions to support RTO and RPO objectives
·Understanding of Docker (e.g. creating Dockerfiles, using Docker-compose, Elastic Beanstalk with Docker)
·Experience of working in project environments and delivering work solutions
·Understanding of best security practices and ISO 27001
·Experience working within a DevOps environment
·Understanding of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery
·Good experience of the following technologies:
oSkilled at automating repetitive tasks
oJenkins and/or CodePipeline & CodeDeploy
oCloud-Formation or Terraform
·Experience with AWS highly desirable
·Good knowledge of the core AWS Services (EC2, RD2, S3, CloudFront, Autoscaling)
·Experience with PHP applications (deploying and debugging)
·AWS certifications would be highly advantageous
·Familiarity Microservice based architectures
